White Cat Studios is a boutique web design and digital services studio based in Cape Town, South Africa. For the purposes of the POPI Act, White Cat Studios is the responsible party in respect of the personal information collected through this website, including enquiries sent from the contact page, the package builder, and service discussions started from the services page.

What personal information we collect.

We only collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us, or that is generated automatically when you use the site. This includes:

• Contact enquiries: name, email address, phone number, project description, estimated budget, and timeline preferences submitted through the contact form or package builder.
• Usage data: pages visited, time on site, referral source, browser type, and device information collected through Google Analytics 4 via Google Tag Manager after analytics cookie consent is accepted.
• Cookies: small data files stored on your device by your browser, used for site functionality, consent preference storage, and anonymous analytics where accepted.

We do not collect sensitive personal information such as identity numbers, financial account details, or health information through this website.

Why we collect your information.

Personal information is collected and used only for the following purposes:

• To respond to project enquiries and quote requests submitted via the contact form or package builder.
• To understand which services are of interest so we can reply with relevant information.
• To improve the website based on how visitors navigate and use it.
• To comply with any legal obligation that requires us to retain records of communication.

We do not use your personal information for unsolicited marketing, and we do not sell, rent, or trade your personal details to third parties.

Third-party services that may process your data.

We use a limited number of trusted third-party services to operate the website. These services may process personal or usage data as part of their normal function:

• Google Analytics 4 & Google Tag Manager: used to collect anonymised usage data about how visitors interact with the site after analytics cookie consent is accepted. IP anonymisation is enabled. Data is processed by Google in accordance with Google's privacy policy.
• Hosting provider: the website is hosted on a managed server. Server logs, which may include IP addresses and request data, are retained for security and performance monitoring.
• Email delivery: enquiry data submitted via the contact form is delivered to White Cat Studios by email. No third-party CRM or marketing platform holds your data unless you are an active client.

How long we keep your information.

Enquiry information submitted through the contact form is retained for as long as it is reasonably necessary to respond to and manage the relevant project conversation. Where a project does not proceed, enquiry records are reviewed and removed after 12 months.

Analytics data is retained in Google Analytics for a maximum of 14 months. Server logs are retained for a maximum of 90 days unless a security incident requires a longer retention period.

Active client project records may be retained for longer where legally required or where they are needed to support ongoing hosting, care, or support services.

Your rights under POPIA.

Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (Act 4 of 2013), you have the right to:

• Access: request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Correction: request that inaccurate or outdated information be corrected.
• Deletion: request that your personal information be deleted, subject to any legal retention obligations.
• Objection: object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
• Complaint: lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa if you believe your rights have been infringed.
